QuestionI purchased several starter plants in the past recent months, They seem to have double in size and added a lot of new leaves. in fact they are putting on new leaves now. I was just wondering when should they be ready to start blooming. Thanks
AnswerIt sounds as if they will soon. It also sounds as if you are doing all the right things for violets. They love warmth, light and moisture in order to thrive and bloom. If you do those things, they will bloom, but keep in mind that violets don't STAY in bloom. They bloom for a month or two, then wait a few more months to bloom again. ALso, in the cold winter months make sure they stay in good sunlight such as an Eastern facing window. However, in summer the east sun will be too strong, and you would want to protect them with a sheer curtain.
