QuestionI received a potted plant from an employer. It looks like an African violet on steroids.Very large leaves and blooms. Blossoms are a deep violet and the insides are white, speckled base(lilly looking). It has anthers and a stigma. The leaves are fuzzy to the touch and so are the outside of the petals.
AnswerLaurie,
The plant sounds like a cyclamen. They look very similar to violets, but are different in many ways. They are more difficult to care for than violets, and I have never been successful. I am providing you with a link for a website with info on caring for cyclamen plants. If you feel I am not right in my assumption, please try to send a photo.
