QuestionQUESTION: I bought my violet about two months ago and about a month ago I noticed these tannish- brown marks showing up around the edges of some leaves. I think it is because who ever fertilized it over did it. I know its not too much sun. I leached the soil to see if that would help it, but it抯 not and some of the younger leaves are getting the marks too. I would send a picture but the pictures I have are in the wrong format and can't be sent. I just wanted to know if you thought that over fertilizing was the problem and if there is anything more I can do about it. Thank you so much for your help.
ANSWER: Jena,
Other than over-fertilizing and excessive sunlight, the only thing I can think of would be if you are watering them with cold water. Cold water does spot leaves of violets, although it does no real damage other than spotting. They prefer lukewarm water, in case you've never heard that. If you think this isn't the answer to your dilemma, write me back and I'll research it further for you..

QUESTION: I have been using filtered luke warm water and watering from the bottom. Do you think I should repot it? I did research and couldn't find out what to do to help it.
AnswerJena,
I think if you go to the African Violet Society of America website you'll find anything you need. They even take questions, photos, etc. and answer them FREE of charge.
I refer many people to them. They are a treasure trove of information, because African Violets are ALL they do!
