QuestionThat must be what is is..Thanks...It is forming after the flower has bloomed and turned brown. So I should let it keep growing until it turns brown? Then Plant? Like I said I use a self watering planter and I add plant food everytime I add more water, Do u think I am over feeding it? I noticed more "pods" as well. It says that it is safe to feed evrytime you water but I think that it maybe be overkill..
Another question...When the flowers have bloomed and then turn brown...should you remove them? I have been doing so in the past...but I was wondering if this is a good idea.
Thanks so much for your help.....I have another baby that I started from a leaf!

Question -
In the middle of several of my bloomed AV flowers, there is a fuzzy light green circular thing, and I was wondering what it was. Like I said all the flowers do no have them. I thaught that this might be a seed. I keep my AV's in the self watering pots and they are SOOO happy..They Bloom constantly.
Answer -
Are they forming before during or after the bloom opens? It could be a seed pod. These house 100's of seeds. So if you want to plant them be careful...they will take over your house in no time. lol It takes 6 months for a seed pod to turn brown (ripen). Do not let more than 2 per plant mature at a time. It takes alot of energy for them to produce seed. If a plant is producing too many it will cause it to slowly die.
Now, does it look like a little green ball with a short stick kind of thing at its end? If so this is a seed pod.
If you need more advice please let me know.
Happy Growing

AnswerI always remove blooms that are just dying. It is a great idea to do that. Good growing! I just makes the plant stronger.
If you want to plant the seeds...take off the pod when it turns brown. Store the pod in a cool, dark, dry place for about a month. They need to rest and ripen more before being planted.
If you fertlize at every watering (filling lol) you should use 1/3 of fertlizer the directions say. THat way you do not run the risk of burning the plant.
Enjoy!
