QuestionI have a fairly new blue hydrangea plant. It is blooming nicely and growing well. It's planted in a sunny area in my front yard on a slight hill. The problem is that the leaves are turning brown and have dark brown spots. Please let me what I can do to keep the leaves green and lush.
AnswerHydrangeas are very thirsty plants. Since yours is recently planted, in full sun and on a slope, it is very possible that it simply is not getting enough water. Another possibility would be some kind of a fungal disease, but I do not have enough information to diagnose one. If you can eliminate lack of water as the problem, apply a fungicide that is labelled for hydrangeas.
