QuestionHello!
I need to know a certain type of flower.
It must be in bloom between Oct and Dec.
It must be a rockery flower.
It should be white.
I'd like if it were shorter than half a meter.
If you don't know it, do you know how I could find this out?
I'm using a white rockery flower as a central image in a story which takes place in mid to late Autumn, and if I don't find a real one to use, I will be forced to make one up.
Thanks!
-Michael
AnswerYou might inquire of someone who lives further south than zone 6. Nothing blooms outdoors here in the winter, expect perhaps the Lenten Rose (Christmas Rose), which I would not define as a rockery flower (although it might qualify), and which is more likely to be found in bloom from February on rather than in December. If you are forced to resort to flights of fancy, you might still consider using this one and just "extending" its season.
