AnswerYou do not specify what kind of hydrangea you have. Some hydrangeas bloom on last year's growth, so cutting them back could well be the reason you have seen no blooms. Next spring try only removing any dead growth and then cut the stems back to the first strong pair of leaf buds. Fertilize with a product for acid-loving plants (Hollytone is one).
