QuestionIs the top to be cut off the yucca after it blooms? Also, can a bleeding heart be moved & when? Thank you Zone 5
AnswerI presume you mean the scape that the flowers were on? By all means cut it off if you don't wish the plant to make seed. I prefer to move (and divide) bleeding heart in the spring when it first begins to show growth. You can also do it in the summer after it has bloomed and the foliage is getting ratty-looking. Cut the foliage back and water and feed the plant in its new location. I wouldn't do this in a sunny location; only in the shade.
