QuestionQUESTION: Hi.I have a pond with around 10 fish in it, recently I have found my filter is clogging up with what looks like see through glue, on the bottom of the pond are what look like see through worms around 3" long do you know what they are, I can send a picture.

QUESTION: I had to fish it out and put it on the path, didnt seem to move..weird thing.
I have put two up, one of pond where you can just see the white things, the other is of one of them although its half size as I fished it out it split, they stick very well to the pond
AnswerThank you for sending the picture. I believe it is an egg from a snail, more specifically a Lymnaea Sternalis. I personally do not like the effects of pond snails, but some people with a more laissez-faires approach to pond maintenance enjoy the algae reducing effects these creatures often have. On a side note, most snail eggs do not look like this at all, only a few species.
