90 gal. pond

Question

pond
i have a 90 gal.pond i was wondering what kind of fish i should
put in it.would koi, comets,or large gold fish  be to big? if not what would be the max i could put in it?here is a pic of my pond

Answer
Nice work on the pond.

What fish you stock depends on where your pond is.  If you live in a warmer region, you have many more options than I do in Virginia.

Goldfish (comet, shubunkin, etc.) and Orfe are both suitable for a 90 gallon pond.  I wouldn't stock any koi due to their large adult size.  The general rule of thumb varies from person to person but is approximately one 12" fish per 200 gallons.

I suggest three goldfish (carassius auratus).  The standard ones will survive winter better.
