QuestionHello -
My favorite pond goldfish -- which I've had for 10 years -- now seems to be suffering from swim bladder disease. She floats upside down at the surface; if disturbed, she can manage to swim down normally, but this is brief -- soon she pops up again. It's horrible to feel so helpless to aid her. I've read about feeding green peas, and have tried this -- but unsuccessfully so far. I try getting the peas as far down her throat as possible, with a chopstick, but she always regurgitates them. Any tips that might help save her??? Thanks so much!
AnswerHey Tina, the only thing I have heard is the pea thing also. I know that if you feed the fish dried pellets you have to soak them first so they don't expand in there stomach. I don't know of any other cures. Try rubbing its belly. 10 years is a long time for a goldfish. I have never had a fish live 10 years and I have had fish my whole life. Good luck Eric
