QuestionAll my pond plants are busting out of the pots and are covered with alge. What can I do to clean these up. Do I use dirt or something else to re-pot?
AnswerHello Karen!
Regular dirt or potting soil will add nutrients to the pond that will encourage algae to grow in unbelievable quantities.
Better to use clay, aquatic potting mix or even very small gravel.
There are many products available to dissolve the existing stringy growth on plants, including "Green Clean" and "PondMarket Restor".
Future growth can be prevented with some sort of barley product such as floating barley bales or a concentrated barley extract like "Barley Fusion"
