QuestionHello George,
I have found some good healthy coi fish that I would like to have in my small pond outside. I live in southweastern NY so the winter's are cold and snowy. I doubt the pond is dep enough to be beyond the freeze line.
I want to put these fish in a aquarium for the winter and then move them outdoors.
Are there any special things to do for these fish and will keeping them indoors and then moving them out in the spring/summer (or when???) be okay?
Thank you.
Martha
AnswerHi,
Yes you can keep koi in an aqaurium providing that the koi are not to large as they need plenty of space they also need good quality water and filtration you would be able to move them outside to a pond in the spring/summer when the temperature of the water in the pond is similar to your aquarium float them in a plastic bag in the pond for aprox 30 mins then when the temperature of the water in the bag is the same as the pond release the koi.
George.
