QuestionMy fish are dying . They are sittting on the bottom. Do they do that when the water starts to get cold? they are not eating anything.Help....
AnswerHi Doug,
Thanx for your question. Are you sure your fish are dying? It is now October and in many parts of the Northern hemisphere it's beginning to cool down. Some places are much cooler than say California or Florida. When the water begins to cool down, fish will become sluggish and even inactive and they will also stop eating. This is like a rest period for them and they conserve energy by not moving around much. In the dead of winter you can even touch the fish as they are almost in a state of stasis. Have any of the fish died? If they have, check out the carcases to see if there is any evidence of disease or injury. Are the fish bloated, eyes bulging, scales sticking out, sores, white spots, ripped fins, blisters. Where are you located. Let me know.
