QuestionHello I am looking for a fish that I saw in a petland discount store where I live it is a very pretty pink and white. From the head to the middle of the fishes body is pink and the rest of the body is white. The fish is a little fat it looks like the fat gold fish but it's not a gold fish.
AnswerPink? Few fish actually have pink on them. Did you perhaps mean yellow or orange? If you meant pink, I wonder if the fish could have been painted. That is where they inject dye into the fish. Was it a fluorescent or intense pink? If so, then that's not natural; it's injected. Injected fish don't live as long because the dye is often toxic, plus the injection may cause infection or other problems. As for what species of fish it was (injected or not), I'm afraid I'd really need to see it to identify it. There are thousands of freshwater fish that may be sold at pet stores, too many to identify from words. I hope you find out what it was. If the fish are still there, see if they have a label saying what they are. I also can't think of a fish where the front half of the body is remotely pink and the second half white. That doesn't sound natural either. Good luck!
