QuestionA GOOD FRIEND RECENTLY LOST MOST OF HER KOI FISH AFTER MAINTENANCE WORKERS OVERLOADED THE POWER SOURCE TO THE PUMP WITHOUT TELLING THE OWNER.
I WANT TO ATTACH A SIMPLE VOLTAGE LOSS DETECTION CIRCUIT TO THE BREAKER OUTPUT VOLTAGE TO THE PUMP. THIS RELAY WOULD CLOSE IF VOLTAGE GOES OFF AND THEN TURN ON ANOTHER CIRCUIT THAT WOULD ACTIVATE A SIREN ALARM.
DO YOU KNOW OF ANY OTHER WAY TO PREVENT THE LOSS OF FISH IN THE EVENT THAT THE CIRCULATION PUMP IS TURNED OFF.??
AnswerHi Leo,
You could have a secondary, independent pump system.
It doesn't need to be sophisticated. The same system that activate the alarm could activate a well hidden sump pump
with a pipe gushing the water up; just to aerate it.
That would give you enough time to fix the problem.
Good Luck!
