QuestionYour answer about putting fish in the pond was good, but sometimes the pond level drops to low to support fish. What else can be done of clean out the salamanders?
AnswerHi Karen,
Thanx for your question. I know some people might recommend poisoning them, but, I don't believe that is humane or responsible. Not to sound like a smart-alec but maybe just netting them out into a bucket and releasing them elsewhere? If the water level drops to low to support fish, would it not support feeder goldfish? They would at least eat the tadpoles and they're tougher than a lot of other fish and will tolerate various water conditions. I hope this helps.
