QuestionLast week we bought 4 new fish, golden orfe, 2 mirror carp and a rud, all of them were young. This week we have none or at least if we have they have they are behaving very shyly. The pond is clear and I would hope if they were there we would see them. Today we had a large crow, looking in the pond, I know herons can get your fish but are crows also culprits? We have a very large carp and orfe but I wouldnt think they had turned into canibals or could they???
thank you
AnswerYep, crows can easily eat small fish. They will wait and spear them. Koi carp and orfe will eat small fish under a few inches. How big are your new fish? Orfe are more predatory whereas koi just accidently would such up small fish on occasion. I hope your new fish are just hiding! New fish are good at hiding, sometimes when you'd swear they simply weren't there! Good luck!
