QuestionI have a gold fish in my garden pond that I find floating on its side I have removed the fish and placed it in a small container for two days it then seems ok and it is repaced in the pond but a day later it is floating again I do not feed them at all at this time of the year any ideas?
AnswerWhat is the temperature of the pond? What is the temperature of the inside container? Or was it outside? You may want to bring the fish inside until spring. The warmer water will let you feed him and treat him for a possible internal infection or perhaps injury. If you don't want to bring him inside, then he'll have to manage on his own - survival of the fittest. Fish floating on their sides in ponds in winter either were hurt or are sick from any number of things. Good luck!
