QuestionI have a small pond with 2 fish. I just had to clean it out because I couldn't see my fish anymore. It looked like pea soup. Anyway while I was cleaning I found little red worms. My border collie drinks out of this pond all the time could she get worms from it?
AnswerIf the "red worms" were really small and actually have little heads, then they're bloodworms which are the larvae of midges (little flies commonly called gnats). If the red worms were larger, they could be earthworms or other real worms. None of these are any threat to your border collie or fish. Parasites will be found in their host and not living on their own. I myself have always wanted a border collie but my family won't allow it. You're lucky!
