QuestionI have a natural pond in my backyard. I have alot of green algae in it. A friend told me that there are certain types of floating plants that you can put in the water that will live off of the algae and clear up the water. If there are these types of plants, what are they and where can I get them? If not, what can you suggest to get rid of the algae? There are fish in the pond.
Thank you.

AnswerHow big is the pond? Fish will eat a lot of the floating plants. In warm months, water hyacinth and water lettuce grow well. The main hardy floating plant is duckweed. Fish love to eat it. In fishless ponds, it grows like mad. I will refer you to my web site but at this time, it's been hacked so it may be messed up. We're trying to fix it but to prevent it from happening again, I may have to take it down for a long time and recode all almost 400 separate html files.

The page works at the moment but they hacked an untold number of pages.
