AnswerDaisi,
Thanx for your question. Do you live in the U.S.? I live in an area of the U.S. that often tops 100 degrees F in the summertime and have never had my water lily leaves "scorched". Do you have koi in the pond with the lilies because koi will ravage water lilies. Nibbling (a nice way of putting it) on the edges of your water plants by koi will result in black edges and food knocked up into the inner leaves as they gorge when you toss the food into the water? The koi food itself will not harm any plants. It sounds to me that either the koi are nibbling at the plants and/or your plants were introduced into the pond with a disease (could be a microbe or a fungus). Follow up if you have more information. I want to help you.
thx,
Tom
