Pond Alge

Question
I hvae a very small garden pond (30 or 40 gallon)
I have never had problems with alge until this year.  Is there something that I can do to clear this up?  I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks so much.
Janet Kulla

Answer
Janet, you can get rid of the alge by getting an algicide at your local pond store, it will lump the alge together and you can scoop it out. Alge is usually caused by too much sunlight and not enough plants to get the nutrition from the water.
