Questionwe have baby toads hatched out and on the lily pads they can not get out of the pond as the sides are too high. Should i be taking them out and putting them in the garden or leaving them in the pond?
Thank you
Bill
AnswerYou should try to catch the baby toads and put them outside of the pond if they cannot get out on their own. It helps them to get out if you lay some large branches or something into the pond for them to climb out like the top off a plastic storage box or really anything they can climb out of the pond and onto the ground. Unlike frogs, toadlets don't really stick around the pond after morphing but make a run for it, normally at night. My ponds had no toads this year so I'm sad but we've had them in the past.
