QuestionI am in the very beginning stages of building a water garden. I have been told not to use limestone in the construcitons of the pond especially the water fall. Why? I live in central Kansas and my only real choices for natural stone is either limestone or sand stone. what would you suggest? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
AnswerThey probably suggest not using limestone because it may change the PH of the water. We live in an area with limestone and it doesn't present any real problem. Go for it and don't worry you will be ok. The lime won't come out of the rock unless it is heated to several hundred degrees.
