QuestionI received a tulip tree for Mother's day about four years ago and it still isn't flowering. It is planted in an open area with full sun. Hope you can help.
Thank You
Eileen
AnswerHi Eileen,
Thanx for your question. If you received Liriodendron tulipifera, and it was say a 3-5 year old sapling, it will most likely not bloom for another 10 or 12 years. This is the information I'm getting from the National Forestry Service.

Because this is a tree question and I want to be sure you get the most reliable answer, I urge you to consult with our tree expert, Jim Hyland, who worked with the Forestry Service. You can go back to Home/Gardening, click on Trees and then click on Trees again. He should be able to verify my answer and most likely, improve it.
I hope this helps.
