Question
i live in N fla and have 4 mature confederate jasmin (at least 6 yrs in the ground) and want to transplant them. they are in the front of my house and i want to replant them to my back yard along my fence. what is the best way to do this or is it not recommended?

Hi Patrick,

Thanx for your question.  Bear in mind that Confederate jasmine, Trachelospermum jasminoides, can be very invasive in your climate.  It is an import from China.  With that said, you can dig it up now and get as much of the root ball as you can and transplant it to a sunny location with well-drained soil.  When tranpslanting, make sure that the new hole is a little deeper and wider than the area from which you took the rootball of the plant.  After replacing the soil around the plant, side-dress with well-composted manure and water well.  If you're having a drought, water weekly.  I hope this helps.
