Thanx for your question. The Norfolk Island pine (Araucaria heterophylla) is not really a pine tree and is native to Norfolk Island in the South Pacific. The seed comes from a large cone structure that can take an average of 18 months to ripen. Cones usually fall in late summer in Southern California.
