Questionmike
not quite seeds, but i have bulbs yet to plant for spring
in this country, the east of england we usually plant them before winter
sets in, will these narcissi and crocii grow as normal if i plant them now?
they look in good shape but most have sprouted being kept in cool conditions
in paper bags.
thankyou philip jones, grimsby uk
AnswerThe bulbs will do just fine, but it is doubtful they will flower their first year. I have experienced about a 50% success rate when planting bulbs in the spring. Even if they do not flower, they will sprout, and will definitely flower next spring.
All the best, and good luck with your garden this year.

Mike
