QuestionI live in the Willamette Valley of Oregon and 6 yrs. ago I brought home a Fuju persimmon from the nursery and it had 3 blossoms on it, (which dropped after transplanting). It has not put on a single blossom since. It is a beautiful semi-espaliered tree but NO blossoms. The nursery told me it did not need a pollinator and to fertilize it this past late winter (first time I've fertilized it), with a low nitrogen fertilizer...I did, still no blossoms but it's still a beautiful, non-fruiting tree. The nursery is stumped and I am disappointed. Do you have any explanation for the problem?
Thank you,
diane
AnswerHi Diane,
Thanx for your question. I'm not really a fruit tree expert. Allow me to refer you to our fruit tree experts here on Allexperts. You can access Elyse Grau or Nick McCann by going back to Home/Gardening and then click on Gardening and then click on Fruit. I hope this helps.
