AnswerThe seedling should be at least 2 foot high before transplanting. Although fall is the best time, you will need to store it indoors if it does not reach the required height and maturity before early September. You could then transplant it next spring or wait until fall 2011. The plant will go dormant over the winter indoors, but will recover nicely next spring.
Good luck.
