QuestionI have read the story regarding planting of a seed from a peach just eaten from your website. I have a peach seed I have kept till bought the house where we wanted to plant it , but it has been quite sometime now (5 years ago) . is it likely that it will grow into a tree or is there a timeframe you need to plant the seed. we would really appreciate a response. thank you
AnswerHi Connie,
Thanx for your question. I think a five-year old peach seed is probably not viable any longer. You can go ahead and try it and see what happens but I doubt there is any life left in it. There's no harm in trying. After stratifying or giving the seed a cold treatment if it doesn't sprout in a few months, you can be sure the seed was not viable. I hope this helps.
