QuestionHello ... Can you tell me if it is possible to grow a tree from the fruit off an existing tree,Or is it better to acquire a cutting or go straight for seeds....
Regards ... R.Taylor
AnswerIt is always best to propagate with cuttings. With most of today's plants being hybrids, it is highly improbable to replicate a plant from seed harvested directly from the parent plant. You can certainly purchase seeds bred by a grower who specializes in hybrids, but it is a very simple process to take a cutting, remove all but the top set of leaves, and then root the cutting in potting soil. This will guarantee the exact same characteristics including color, taste, and growing habit.
I hope this answered your question. Please write again if I can ever provide assistance.
