QuestionI am going to grow some trees from seeds. Many of them require cold stratification to increase their propagation rate. However, I do not know a good mixture to use. I have read to use peat moss, vermiculite, perlite, or even folded paper towels. I have the specifics for moisture content and temperature, along with time, but the correct cold stratification material has be baffled. I was hoping you could help.
Thanks,

AnswerHi Cale,
Thanx for your question. If cold stratifying outdoors, just use regular soil or potting soil. If cold-stratifying in the refrigerator, I just use damp paper towels. If they are large seed peat moss would be better. I hope this helps.
