QuestionI have collected the seeds from my moon plant pods and dried them. When is the best time to plant the seeds. I live in the foothills of the Western part of North Carolin.

Thanx for your question. By moon plant, I'm going to assume you mean the Datura plant, jimsonweed, thornapple, angel's trumpet, Gabriel's trumpet...here's website to pix of the plant.

If this is the plant then you have datura also referred to by numerous names as shown above. Plant the seeds like you would tomato seeds (they're in the same family). Lightly cover with soil about 8-10 weeks before the last frost. They emerge in 10-20 days. Grow under lights until established (about 2 inches tall) and then transplant to separate cells. After the last frost, when temperatures are consistently above 50癋/10癈, take the seedlings outdoors and put them in the shade for 10 days to acclimate them to the outdoors. After that, plant in full sun, well drained soil. I hope this helps.
