QuestionI'm a first time gardener. I planted wild flowers and all of my oriental poppies are falling over. Some have broken at the stem. What do I do? Are the roots too shallow? is it o.k. to dig them up and plant them deeper. Can the stem that fell off be replanted or should I treat them like cut flowers?
Thanks!
AnswerHi Deirdre,
Thanx for your question. The poppies probably just blew over with the wind. That happens sometimes. Don't dig them up. The roots will be fine and they will be stronger next year. You won't be able to replant the broken stems. Just bring the flowers indoors and enjoy them in a bouquet. I hope this helps.
