Thanx for your question. After the blooms have faded you can trim the scapes back to the ground (scapes are the stems holding the flowers). Then leave the foliage until it starts to wither and yellow in the fall. While the foliage is green, it is actively gathering energy from the sunlight and storing it in the form of starches and sugars in its rhizomes for next year's bloom and growth. Remove the withered leaves to maintain garden sanitation. I hope this helps.
