QuestionQUESTION: Thank you for you previous answer Tom, very helpful. I have a follow up.
Would you please tell me how big and heavy the seed pods are?
ANSWER: Hi Henry,
Thanx for the follow up. The cones can be dangerous because they are so large. They will get about 6 inches long and a bit bigger around than a beer can. I hope this helps.

QUESTION: Thanks Tom. How about the weight. Would you venture a guess?
Thank you,
Henry
AnswerHi Henry,
Thanx for the follow up. Believe it or not in places like Hawaii, Australia and the South Pacific where Araucaria heterophylla (Norfolk Island Pine) thrives, the cone can weigh up to 5kg (11 lbs). A. Bidwellia, a relative of the NIP has cones that weigh up to 22 kg (44lbs) and are so hazardous that signs are posted to keep people from walking under them and getting hurt or killed by falling cones! By the way, Araucaria species are not true pines. I hope this helps.
