QuestionWhen my father passed away in May, my mom give each of the four daughters a small Peace Lily from the funeral flowers as a memorial. Everyone's has died except I have 1 small spring left. When I pulled it out of the original pot to see what was going on, there appeared to be some sort of root rot. I purchased a new pot and new soil, cut off the bad areas, leaving 1 small root, and repotted. Now it is wilting, seemingly dying. Can the entire root area be cut and placed in water to re-root? (there's still some brown area at the root that seems to be rotting again). And if so, how do I take care of the rooted piece? Please hurry as I don't know how long it will last.
Thanks for your help.
AnswerHi Joyce,
Thanx for your question. The situation doesn't sound good but what you try is get fungicide at the nursery, treat the root with the fungicide and plant it again. If you place the root in water now, I'm afraid it will most likely die. I hope this helps and my condolences on the passing of your father.
