QuestionI would like to know the process of planting yucca seeds, I have never tried this before and would like to do it correctly.
AnswerHi Doris,
Thanx for your question. I've grown yucca from seeds before and it is pretty easy. Place the seeds in a pot of potting soil and then lightly cover them with soil. Keep them evenly moist but not soggy or the seed will rot. They will usually germinate in a couple of weeks and look like grass. They are very slow growing and probably won't get but about 4 inches tall by fall. Plant them in a nursery bed so you'll know them from grass and weeds. Yucca are pretty hardy so if you get them going by fall they should survive the winter. Next spring they should really start growing faster and you'll need to move them before summer. They need full sun to bloom and grow effectively. I hope this helps.
