QuestionI live in upstate NY and have 4 large pine trees that are about 30 yrs old and about 60 ft high. Approximately 90% of the needles one 1 tree have turned brown (beginning at the top of the tree) over the past month. There are small holes, around the entire tree and can hear bugs inside the tree. Do you think the tree is dead or is it worth trying to treat it and if so, with what? Any advise is appreciated.
AnswerHi Maggie,
Thanx for your question. Although I fequently answer questions about trees allow me to refer you to Allexperts Tree Expert Jim Hyland. He has experience with the Forestry Service and is much better qualified to answer this question than I am. There is a separate forum here on trees and you'll find Jim very helpful. I hope this helps.
