Questionafter blooming the first time, my daylillies get seed pods on them instead of new flower buds. do I cut these off so it will rebloom or leave them on the plant? I live in the coastal area of NC. Thank you for your help.
AnswerPeggy, you are correct. You need to cut off the seed pods before they fully develop. Leaving them on forces the plant to expend all of its energy into producting seed instead of new blooms. It also inhibits the growth of the bulb, which is responsible for next year's growth.
Good luck, and please write again if I can ever be of assistance.
