QuestionI live in Eastern Connecticut and I was given a lavender bush.Should I plant it in my garden or keep it in my home.It say it can only tolerate 33-90F.
AnswerHi Janice,
Thanx for your question. It sounds like you have French Lavender, Lavandula dentata which is only hardy to about 25F. I would keep it in a planter and then wheel the planter into a cool garage for the winter where it won't get below 30F and allow it to go dormant. Only water it enough to keep the soil from completely drying out. Each year you can return it to the outdoors when temperatures stay above 30 F. I hope this helps.
