Wisteria pods with seeds inside

Question
I have a green fuzzy pod from my 45 year old well established Wisteria> Want to plant the seeds from the pod.  Do i have to take the seeds OUT of the seed pod to plant?

Answer
Hi Temple,
Thanx for your question.  Yes, you must remove the seed from the pod.  Make sure they are dry and brown and plant in individual pots about 1/2 inch deep.  They should germinate in less than 2 weeks as long as you keep them warm (indoors).  Allow the seedlings to produce a couple of additional leaves before taking the seedlings outdoors.  Put the seedlings in a shaded, protected place (as long as you've had your last frost) and keep them there for 7-10 days.  AFter that, they can be planted in direct sunlight.  I hope this helps.
Tom
