QuestionHow do I plant kumquat seeds? I took them out of a kumquat, will they grow? Thanks we live in Central Florida I also have a greenhouse.
AnswerHi Kay,
Thanx for your question. Kumquat seeds should be pressed into a pot of good potting soil and lightly covered. Keep the medium warm and moist but not soggy. Germination will occur usually within two weeks. Wait until the seedlings have their second set of leaves before transplanting into separate pots. The kumquat enjoys full sun. If you have a green house you can grow out your seedlings here and then when they are large enough to be on their own (say after the first year) plant them in the yard or orchard in full sun. I hope this helps.
