QuestionI have a pink edged brug that keeps losing it's leaves, some stems die back by turning a yellowish color and get soft and is slow to grow new leaves. This brug was spectacular a year ago and growing rapidly. The leaves were lush green and big. I'm in Boca Raton, Florida. I don't know what to do to bring this back? Can you help here? BTW - Are you from New Jersey? As I knew a Tommy Alonzo from Linden during my high school years. He was my brother Walter's friend.

AnswerHi Krys,
Thanx for your question. Check the leaves closely to see if there is any infestation of spider mites or some other pest. Spidermites will be small white dots and there will be sticky stuff on the undersides of the leaves. Look for tiny green or yellow aphids too. If you have an infestation, go to your local nursery and get an insecticidal soap (preferably organic) and treat your plants according to the instructions. I'm assuming since you're in Boca the plant is outdoors. It sounds like a pest has attacked your plant. I hope this helps.
No, I'm not from New Jersey, I'm from Kansas.
thx,
Tom
