QuestionHi Tom,
I received two 3 ft chestnut trees as a gift through the mail. I live in Michigan and the ground is frozen. Do you have any suggestions on how I can take care of these indoors or do they need to be planted right away?
AnswerHi Chris,
I would plant the saplings in large pots and keep them in a cold garage until spring. Water them about once every two or three weeks to keep the soil from drying out completely. Once you've had your last frost, take the saplings out to the desired area and plant them. I hope this helps.
