QuestionI live in south GA. I have several beautiful Althea around my deck. I gathered several seed podsa few days ago. How do I process these seeds for the best results?
Also, is Althea & Rose of Sharon the same plant. I have looked them up on the Internet & some places seem to use both names.
Thanks,
AnswerHi Buddy,
Thanx for your question. Yes, the althea is also known as Rose-of-Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus). Harvest the seed pods when they turn brown just before they open up. Allow the seeds to dry out a little bit, indoors and then put then in a clean, dry jar and seal it, keeping the jar in a cool dark place. I hope this helps.
