QuestionQUESTION: My avacado had numerous blossoms and there are now very small avacados, about the size of a small pea, on the tree. The problem is they keep dropping off the tree. Is there some fertilizer or something I can give the tree to help them mature? Thank you. Robin
ANSWER: Hi Robin,
Thanx for your question. Usually, the problem of fruit drop is due to a cold spell and/or drying winds. There's not much you can do. Additionally, a long dry spell can cause a fruit drop. While the tree won't be adversely affected for the long-term, these conditions usually result in low yields of fruit. In the case of the weather, there's nothing you can do. If you have a long dry spell, you can water the tree liberally during the drought period. Your local county extension agent may have some tips. If you need contact information, give me your state and county. I hope this helps.
