QuestionWhat exactly are the seeds that form at the head of a daffodil? can these be dried, planted etc???
how exactly do bulb flowers reseed so to speak?
AnswerHi Sharon,
Daffodils will produce seeds. These should be hard, black, seeds. You can plant them but they require an extended cold period and then a warm period to germinate. You can duplicate this by putting the seeds in a pot of good potting soil, sealing it in a plastic baggie and then placing inside the fridge for 90 days. After that, place the pot in a warm area (above 70degrees F) and germination will occur from 30-180 days. It takes 5-7 years to get a blossom from a plant started from seed. I hope this helps.
